The Big Sky Radio Control Modelers
We became an AMA chartered club over 30 years ago. The club usually has 40 - 50 members per year, their ages range from 12 years to 80 years of age. We are a typical cross section of America with one common bond and that is airplanes. If you were to visit with each member you would most likely find that somewhere in there background is a real airplane. We have had in our club, throughout the years, pilots of B-52 bombers, F-16 fighters and J-3 Cubs, just to mention a few. We fly from a paved landing strip located on the Northwest edge of Black Horse Lake, about 9 miles north on highway 89. The type of flying is dependent upon the interests of the individual. You will find 3D flyers, racers, pattern flyers and even float plane flyers. The float plane flying is done on the Missouri River and Wadsworth Park West of Great Falls. We have a very diversified group and opinions are common. The common bond of airplanes seem to make for a close knit group. If you are interested in joining our club check out the membership information on the Website. You will also find a map to the field and can usually find flyers at the field in the evenings and on weekends during the flying season. Contact persons are also listed on the Website.
